A Real Missionary--Almost!

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to volunteer with my ward at the referral center in the Provo Missionary Training Center. We answered inbound calls that were generated from LDS commercials and pass along cards. We input all the information to mail them church books, pamphlets, videos, and DVDs. We also had the opportunity to briefly teach and testify to them on the phone. A few of the callers even let me send them missionaries to visit and share a message with them! It was really exciting and a great taste of the missionary work I will be doing. As we walked through parts of the MTC, I couldn't help but stop and take my picture in front of this giant map.

You may notice that I am pointing to Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina!

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine introduced me to his cousin who served in Argentina. He graciously gave me my first taste of mate. I didn't care for it much, but the filtered spoon straw you drink it with is pretty nifty.

Check this out: the Buenos Aires Temple! Rumor has it I'll get to go every transfer, maybe more often - depending on how much of our preparation day it would eat up in travel time. I can't wait.

Behold... Jump back, Niagara, Iguazu Falls is here! 275 waterfalls over 2.7 kilometers on the border of Argentina and Brazil.

The Buenos Aires Temple looks just like the Guatemala City temple. I hope you get to go. That would be so great!
