I LOVE THE MISSION! I finally hit the point where
you wake up and you don't think "How am I going to get
through this day?" It took about 10 days to get there. Not
everyday of the first 10 were bad, but there were probably
tough moments of all of those 10 days. Now, I feel incredibly
tough. Stuff goes wrong, all of our appointments stand us up,
investigators quit on us, we're late, traffic is bad, there's no
where to park, but you know what...? it's all good.
I'm so happy and I feel a different kind of joy altogether.
I love my companions, I don't really mind tracting -
but that's probably because lately we've been doing all of our
tracting in Hollywood Hills where it's 90% English -and I have
more confidence in English. In Spanish I can't quite make
such a claim! :)
My first true door slam was on 6/8/2008 - I've had 2 so far...
not bad, and who knows how many to go? :)
People slamming doors and being downright MEAN, and it
just doesn't penetrate me. It's amazing, I finally grew a
thicker skin and it's great! Dad, you'd be so proud.

It is getting hot out here though, I'll give you that. There's nothing like
knocking doors and feeling drops of sweat roll all the way down your
back! Gotta love that. Another great bonus - well, actually that's
probably part of the job. It's either "part of the job" or
"just a bonus" - I LOVE IT!
Gotta go,
Gotta go,

p.s.tell everyone this tidbit from Sister Blackburn:
"CARRY YOUR OWN WEATHER!"
Meaning it might be pouring rain outside, but if you
bring sunshine with you wherever you go, then
you can make everyday a BEAUTIFUL day!
PASS IT ON! =)
